Complex Division

Determine the conjugate of the denominator :
The conjugate of  ( 2 +  6i)  is  ( 2 -  6i) 

Multiply the numerator and denominator by the conjugate:
 ( 5 +  6i)•( 2 -  6i) = ( 46 -  18i)
( 2 +  6i)•( 2 -  6i) = ( 40 +  0i) = 40 
Note:
(1) Multiplying both the numerator and the denominator by the same number does not change the value of the fraction.
(2) The new denominator is a real number as its imaginary part is zero.

 ( 5 +  6i)/( 2 +  6i) =
  0.0250 • ( 46 -  18i)
