The tangent of an angle is equal to the sine of the angle divided by the cosine of the angle.

$$\tan \left(0°\right)=\frac{\sin \left(0°\right)}{\cos \left(0°\right)}$$

Computing the sine of zero degrees.

$$\frac{\sin \left(0°\right)}{\cos \left(0°\right)}=\frac{0}{\cos \left(0°\right)}$$

Computing the cosine of zero degrees.

$$\frac{0}{\cos \left(0°\right)}=\frac{0}{1}$$

The fraction equals zero if its numerator is zero.

$$\frac{0}{1}=0$$
